“Silver” and “Gold” Duke of Edinburgh Award Qualifying Expeditions

14 September 2016
I have today had sight of some examples of the reports and diaries, completed by members of the Exeter District Explorer Unit, who were successful participants of the recent “Silver” and “Gold” Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award qualifying expeditions, and found them to be of extremely high quality, and felt that, as an Exeter & District Scout Executive Committee Member, I should record my personal delight in seeing such well produced documentation, from obviously well motivated and enthusiastic young people:
As we do not always, as Executive Members, voice or publish our thoughts, nor give credit for the fantastic diversity of activities and support being constantly undertaken by all the Scout Groups and their Sections, by the District Explorer Unit, the District Activities Team, the District HQ manager, the Exeter District Scout & Girl Guide shop, The Gang Show Gang, and the Scout Active Support Unit, I am, hopefully, in some way addressing that shortcoming, and adding my personal appreciation for all the hard, but rewarding work, being undertaken in the District, which certainly enhances my on-going pride in having been associated with Exeter Scouting for the past 34 years.
Well done to all!
