Welcome to the Scouts Section of the Exeter District Scouts

The Scout section is open to boys and girls aged 10 and a half to 14.

We have 12 Scout Troops located throughout the City and surrounding area, all running active programmes throughout the year, with a number of Troops having links with the RAF and Royal Navy.

Scouts within the Exeter District are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities as part of their active programme. This helps them to find out about the world in which they live in and allows them to discover their own abilities, creative talents and the importance of keeping fit.

“Participation” rather than meeting set standards is the key approach and for the Scout who wants to be recognised for his or her achievements there are a number of Challenges Awards and Activity Badges.

Being outdoors is very important and Scouts are encouraged to take part in both traditional and modern Scouting skills, from camping and survival through to abseiling and yachting. Through encouragement Scouts do take part in a wide range of activities as part of their programme.

Scouting is about making friends, working as part of a team, participating fully in the adventure and opportunities of life. If you or your child wishes to get involved with Scouting in Exeter, then please complete the Scout Association’s online enquiry form by clicking here.
